Posada Rio Cubas is located near Santander, Cabárceno Park and the beaches of Somo and Langre.

The house has been built preserving the original mountain style, combining wood, stone and ceramics. The Posada Rio Cubas was certified to "Q" for Quality by the Government of Cantabria on December 21 2004 for its efforts in improving Tourism Quality.

Its facilities are spacious and comfortable, furnished in local traditional style, have been widely praised by our customers. They have parking area and free Wi-Fi.

It has 11 double bedrooms and 3 special double, sleeping 30 in total. All with extensive views, varied decoration and painting, which give them a unique character. They have television, bathroom with hairdryer, outside window and central heating, which will make you feel at home.

We have a large and beautiful wooden porch for rustic dining room in contact with the garden. Behind the open porch with three arches of the main façade there is a cozy living room equipped with a fireplace to enjoy a pleasant and quiet stay.
La Posada has a small and charming library dedicated mainly to Cantabria mountains and culture. It also includes a small collection of novels and some board games.

There is also a space for bikes, canoes, surfboards and wetsuits hanger.

The country estate has an area of ​​2000 square meters. It is an area bounded by laurel trees and fruit trees of every kind on a large meadow for our guests' enjoyment.

Breakfast at the Posada is abundant and full homemade - toast, cake, donuts, toast, "frisuelos" served with kindness and in such a welcoming place that they have always deserved praise and compliments from our customers.

Being near Santander allows you to attend the Festival Palace and the Palace of the Magdalena in just 20 minutes, either by car or aboard the boat that contiuously crosses the bay from Somo Santander, enjoying a maritime context of incomparable beauty.

Within 5 minutes of the Posada you can enjoy the most beautiful coast in Cantabria - Trasmiera, where you can enjoy walks along the cliffs or endless sandy beaches and estuary. In summer you can go to our lonely beaches fro a swim.

Cabo de Ajo is just 10 minutes away, and about 15, the Natural Park of Cabárceno, and Liérganes, a beautiful old town on the banks of the Miera River.

Given our strategic location - right in central Cantabria and only 4km from the motorway parallel and close to the sea -, the Posada is just 20 minutes from the Santoña and Puente Viesgo, with Cuevas del Castillo and Las Monedas. 30 minutes from Castro Urdiales, Santillana del Mar and the Altamira Caves, Barcena Mayor and Soplao Cave, and 45 minutes from Bilbao, the Guggenheim Museum, San Vicente de la Barquera and Asón River source and its hills.

As for the cuisine, the area has a wealth of restaurants where you can taste the famous Cantabrian cuisine, both fish and seafood not forgetting our meats, "caricos Trasmiera" or Mountain Stew.

Activities:

The list of activities in the area is innumerable including:

- River Sports along the Ria de Cubas - descents in light boats or the full range of fishing (upstream in the quintessential trout Miera River, and downstream, with the uniqueness of a area with tidal influence, besides being a beautiful estuary.
- Pedestrian Tourism, Mountain Bike and Cycling, by numerous secondary roads or in their own environment or places close to Hoznayo, such as Alto Las Varas, Matienzo, Arredondo, Liérganes and its environment, or along the nearby "Cycle Lane".
- Horse Riding. Barely two kilometres away, there two riding arenas whose studs are located in the towns of Castanedo and Villaverde de Pontones. All roads in Horna environment are frequented by groups of horsemen.
- Golf. Just 5 km away there are three golf courses - Municipal de Pedreña, another one including excellent facilities, and owned by the Real Club de Pedreña, and finally the Golf Course Agüero (five kilometres away). In addition to this sport, enjoy the extravaganza of the views offered on Cubas Estuary and the Bay of Santander.
- Birdwatching in the very near Noja marshes, Santoña, Astillero and Camargo.
- Sea Fishing for large vessels in Pedreña, and lighter ones at Somo.
- Surf. We are 5 miles from the famous Somo Surf School, where you can take beginners course or improvement.
- Mountaineering and visits to forests of the Cantabrian Mountains, valleys and nearby: Assos, Miera, Pas... with really beautiful marked routes.
