In an area of nearly 70 square meters, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Light and dark colours were selected for its decoration, which enhances the space creating a super nice place. It sleeps two, plus one extra bed.

The apartment is really cozy. It is an open space divided into two distinct areas: the large room with a king size bed and large closet in a dressing area, across the hall, with a great sofa to enjoy TV, and Wi-Fi next to the desk.

Environment & Activities Casa de Mi Abuela

Location:

Valle del Corneja, a privileged environment, is the entrance to ducal Piedrahita.

Attractions:

• Plaza España: surrounded by arcades of different periods and styles. It features a superb granite fountain sculpture (pylon), made in 1727. In the old times it was the scene of public events such as tournaments, games, auto-da-fés, processions, plays...

City Hall and the Municipal Archives, including interesting documents such as the birth certificate of the Grand Duke of Alba.

• Duques de Alba Palace: This is a beautiful French neoclassical building which was built between 1755 and 1766, commissioned by the Duke and Don Fernando de Silva Alvarez de Toledo.

It became an important meeting place for the most illustrious personalites related to art and intelligentsia of the time, such as Jovellanos and Francisco de Goya. The garden at the rear has remained, according to tradition, reflected in some paintings by Goya, as in the case of The Harvest.

• Iglesia de Santa Maria la Mayor: combines different styles and was built on a house donated by Queen Berengaria in the thirteenth century. It houses the Museum of Sacred Art where you can enjoy unique pieces such as the tomb of the García de Vargas, the carved wooden pulpit of the fifteenth century, the choir...

• Carmelite Convent: 15th-century building. Baroque altarpiece of the first decades of the 18th century.

• Convento de Santo Domingo Ruins of the Convent of Santo Domingo: Founded in the late fourteenth century by Don Hernando, Valdecorneja second lord, and his wife. One of the landmarks in the town, because of its cultural interest, and artistic relations with the nearby San Esteban de Salamanca and Santo Tomás de Avila convents.

In the nineteenth century, it was expropriated and destroyed, becoming a graveyard. Its simple ribbed pointed windows are all that is left of the original chancel, where the remains of its founders, Don Hernando Alvarez de Toledo, Valdecorneja Lord, and his wife, Doña Leonor de Ayala lie.

• José María Gabriel y Galán's House. It was the poet's residence while he worked as a teacher in the village. You may also find the medieval doorways and shields in some mansions fascinating...

• Ermita Virgen de la Vega: On a plain next to an archaeological site that uncovered the settlement of a late Roman or Visigoth town.
