  Doña Catalina is pet friendly (ask the owner).  

Doña Catalina is an old traditional house built using slate and wood and located in the centre of the village. Its centuries-old walls, encaustic cement tiles and furniture preserve its original atmosphere.

All bedrooms are spacious and exterior.

On the ground floor there are two bedrooms, one bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and dining room.
• La Alcoba, bedroom downstairs, formerly it was an office, and currently a reading room that invites you to relax, listen to music or play the games. It is a king size bed and a 135cm sofa bed in the parlor
• Las Hiedras. Their roofs and walls are covered by these plants. It has two 90cm beds, and includes bed & bath linen.
• El Altillo has two bedrooms and a shared bathroom.
• El Azul with balcony overlooking the street has two beds of 90 cm with possibility to include crib.
• The Green Kangaroo with two 90cm beds, has direct access to the garden.
• El Desván has two bedrooms with king size beds and a bathroom in each room.

Services: bed & bath linen included.

It also has a fully equipped kitchen with hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, kitchenware for 12 (including coffee maker).

Outside, landscaped area with garden furniture, barbecue, Mauresque oven, barbecue in covered picnic area that also has roasting oven.

Environment & Activities Doña Catalina

Location:

Santa María la Real de Nieva with its impressive Gothic church featuring the subject of the Last Judgment on its doorway. The most beautiful parts are the north gate and the cloister. Despite being a 15th century structure, it might well be a Romanesque cloister from the late twelfth or early thirteenth. These capitals reproduce biblical scenes, a farming calendar, hunting scenes, construction of the cloister, convent life, coats of arms...

Santa Maria de Nieva is the crossing site on the St. James Way from Madrid to Sahagún, is located in the countryside in Segovia, Coca (18 km), Segovia (30 km) and Arevalo.
It is connected by bus from Segovia and Madrid.

Activities:

• Guided tours to visit its ancient monuments and important buildings. And being a crossroads, it offers all the charm of green tourism.
• Tours in the fabulous Gothic cloister - similar construction to Silos -, Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Soterraña (somewhere between Romanesque and Gothic). And the 14th-15th century cellar excavated in slate Monastery, all in Santa Maria la Real de Nieva.
• Local pool from July to September.
• Hiking - Pilgrim's Way, a journey along the Camino de Santiago from Madrid to Sahagún. Private or guided tour to the Rock Carvings in Domingo Garcia. Strolling through pine forests, and mushrooming in season. Castles Route. Visit the fifteenth century Mauresque castle in Coca. Guided nature tours in Coca.
• Quad trips.
• Paintball.
• Festivals are in September, being the most important days on 7 (Los Cirios) and 8 (La Soterraña). They begin on 6 and end on June 10, with the traditional bullfights and fireworks.
• Visit to Segovia, World Heritage City, just 20 minutes away.
