RECOMMENDED ROUTE FROM MADRID-BENAVENTE-OURENSE MOTORWAY:
• A-52: AfteR Ourense, Exit Carballiño/Pontevedra by N - 541.
• Following this road (N-541) 24 km after Carballiño, take the detour to Beariz in A Hermida (6 km).
• In the centre of Beariz, turn right towards Pontecaldelas-Doade. Past Doade, Portela da Cruz (mountain pass), Seixido, A Moa, and on KM 15 (on PO235), take the detour to A Xesta-Carballeira da Xesta. Get to Xesta (3 km), and find the church on the right and the signpost Portomartiño on the left. Turn left here towards Portomartiño and after 200 m, take a dirt track on the right.
ROUTE FROM THE NORTH:
• From Santiago de Compostela to Pontevedra motorway (AP-9). In Pontevedra, Exit 132 towards Pontecaldelas.
• Follow the signs to Pontecaldelas. Past Pontecaldelas, and after 3 km, turn left towards A Lama.
• In A Lama, continue towards Seixido/Beariz and and on KM 15 (on PO235), take the detour to A Xesta-Carballeira da Xesta.
• Get to Xesta (3 km), and find the church on the right and the signpost Portomartiño on the left. Turn left here towards Portomartiño and after 200 m, take a dirt track on the right.
ROUTE FROM THE SOUTH
• From Tui or Vigo, you should go to Redondela and take the road to Pazos de Borben/Fornelos de Montes. Continue to Forzans (Pontecaldelas) where you will reach a junction. Take the detour to A Cañiza, follow this road for about 4 km until Gaxate. In this village after crossing the bridge over the river, turn left towards Xende/Beariz. The road ends at a junction. Once there, take the left detour to Xesta (3 km). Continue to Xesta.
