We are pleased to welcome you and help you enjoy our house. O Retiro do Conde is a beautiful 17th-century building that originally belonged to the Espadas Family. It has been carefully restored preserving its lovely traditional atmosphere, while providing the latest amenities of a high quality establishment.

This is a beautiful 17th-century manor in the Verin Valley, under the powerful gaze of Monterrei medieval fortress.

O Retiro do Conde has 6 rooms equipped with all modern day conveniences while maintaining its traditional atmosphere, beds of beautiful wood and iron headboards.

Four are double and the other two are suite rooms. All of them have fully equipped private bathroom, heating, pillow menu, and room service 12h a day.

In addition to our 6 rooms, there are common areas such as galleries, library with over 160 books, living room and of course, our wine cellar to taste local wines and Monterrei Valley produce.

Environment & Activities O Retiro do Conde

Location:

Located next to a small river, at a crossroad of different times and styles of "pazos". Just 50 m away, there is a beautiful river area, including sports and leisure areas.

On a large country estate largely devoted to organic farming, you can join in and enjoy farming activities guided by a qualified farmer, or you can relax listening to birds singing and the wind flowing through the centennial walnut tree.

Villaza appears under the powerful gaze of Monterrei medieval fortress. There is also a Templar monastery dating from 950. It features its baroque church, and even more interesting, its Romanesque tower, unique in its style in Galicia.

Close to it, you can find our 17th-century manor reflected in the clear waters of the river Albarellos. Its waters also flow next to the Limias manor on its way down to the river Búbal. Here you can enjoy a rest and swimming area of lush vegetation and native fauna. Its proximity to the A-52 makes Villaza extremely easy to access.

Wine area featuring different wines from the twenty DO Monterrey wineries. Most of them are delicious white fresh fruity wines, made ​​from native varieties such as Godello, Treixadura, and in some cases Doña Branca.
