Environment & Activities Turalcaraz

Plaza Monumental de Alcaraz is one of the most beautiful 16th-century collection of renaissance buildings in Albacete. This province has a large number of historic monuments whose main architectural feature is its red stone.

The environment of our region offers visitors endless possibilities - from guided tours of Alcaraz historic quarter to wilder landscapes such as Almenara Peak.

We recommend:
• Area of Batanes - nature reserve, located 4kms. from Alcaraz.
• The last great Castilian-La Mancha bears survived until the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries in the stunning Calar de a Osera, which is reached through the port of Las Crucetillas (1450ms.) linking Riopar and Batán del Puerto. The same happened to the native deitanus wolf, a subspecies of Iberian wolves. It belongs to the Alcaraz Mountains-Rio Mundo nature reserve, a core of spectacular mountains separated by narrow gorges which become fertile valleys.
• The archaeological zone of Lezuza Castle Hill and the Roman site of Libisosa.
• The natural monument of La Laguna del Arquillo - a 522hectare area.

Located just a few steps away from Alcaraz Mountains Green Way.
